writing

film occupies a significant part of my time, and during my undergraduate career, it has grown to be my favorite medium to study and analyze.

a short list of applicable coursework at NYU:
film: history and formbritish cinemaasian film and historigraphy

visual analysis is a crucial process of film understanding. in the process, viewing films has allowed me to see the world in a more detail-oriented way.

since i'm primarily concerned with the way we as humans understand audiovisual signs, i've conducted a variety of research on various media forms that proliferate in contemporary society, including music, photography, and architecture.

video edits

corporate projects (2018-present)

i've completed projects for corporate aesthetics while working with companies, such as modelexpand and the simonsen team at douglas elliman. these videos showcase more of a polished and easy-to-digest editing style.

clique (2018)

i edited my first freelance project across the course of a week in may 2018.
this was for a fashion student at parsons school of design. in addition to video and sound editing, i was on set for filming and assisting the director.

concert videos

when i attend concerts, i enjoy documenting my experiences in video format.
because of regulations in venues, these are recorded on an iphone 6s camera. occasionally, i will edit the footage and post on youtube.

video essays / informative videos

for a number of the classes i have taken for my major, i have edited a few video essays and infographic-like clips.
these are usually five to ten minutes long and take a few hours or up to a day to make.

photography projects

flashbulb memory (2018)

during the spring 2018 semester, my final project was an analysis of the disposable camera and its part in psychological memory formation.
in the format of a photo album, i selected twenty-nine snapshots from a personal collection taken from two fujifilm quicksnap disposable cameras. the photos depict a variety of memories, including my daily surroundings and special moments from vacation.

the order of the photos also shows the process of growth and passing of time since the scrapbook begins with a photograph of a branch of budding flowers and ends with a barren tree shot through a window, symbolizing the end of a roll of film as well as a new beginning as the tree begins its process of blooming again.

graphic designs

royce & rocket (2020-present)

royce & rocket is a start-up travel company, planning for product launch in summer 2021. i am currently on the team as a graphic designer, and am in charge of developing graphics for company branding and collateral. my original designs include company business cards, stickers, and postcards.

i also collaborate with the company's founders to create social media graphics for their 'dare to' instagram campaign (a series dedicated to introducing new hobbies/activities).

modelexpand (2019-2020)

modelexpand is a diversity recruiting strategy firm, and i was their marketing and communications coordinator from june 2019 to april 2020.

graphics are cross-posted on the company's linkedin, facebook, twitter, and instagram pages, as well as on the company website. for each event, promotional posters serve as the main graphic element, which is used in conjunction with other designs, including visual material for emails and slide decks for use during events.

orange music festival 2017

while working with ningbo music harbor for the summer 2017 season, i was designing large-scale graphics for the major music festival of the month.
i produced a variety of posters, banners, and stickers with a refreshing and easy-to-process theme.

presentations

making presentations was one of my favorite activities in university since i could express my creative vision while communicating ideas that i was researching.

posters and other designs

i designed posters for club and campus-wide events.
when it was applicable, i also enjoyed creating graphics for my college courses and at my own leisure.

other than posters and larger graphics, i have also made logos, sticker designs, and snapchat filters.
usually, these are digitally drawn and polished on adobe illustrator or adobe photoshop sketch.
